History

  • The Virginia Tech colony of Alpha Gamma Rho was officially established on February 27th, 1973.  The first officers were Perry Campbell (Noble Ruler), C.G. Thornhill (Vice Noble Ruler), Paul Miller ( Secretary), Scott Weller (Treasurer), and John Matysek (Alumni Secretary). The present house was purchased the following spring and the 40' by 40' rear addition was completed in March 1974.

     

    On May 17th, 1975, the colony at Virginia Tech became a national chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho.  The new officers of Beta Eta were Emmett Toms (Noble Ruler), Shane Brannock (Vice Noble Ruler), Bill Hibberd (Treasurer), Ernie Reeves (Chaplain), Jim Rowe (House Manager and Usher), and Jeffrey Bracken (Secretary).
